​Have you ever wanted to try writing poetry in English?

This Creative Writing workshop will explore poetry in a way that will inspire you to write! The 90 minute workshop will take place on Zoom and is limited to 10 people.

You will discover new poems in English, join like-minded people in a conversation about poetry and practise your Creative Writing skills.

 

English Level Required:

To fully benefit from the sessions, you will ideally need to be at a C1/C2 English level or Advanced/Proficiency.

 

How a 90 minute Creative Writing session works:

 

1. We discuss the theme of the session, in this case mountains, and build up a vocabulary list of related/contrasting words.
 

2. We read and analyse a published poem with the same theme.

 

3. We then do 10 minutes writing to explore the theme on our own.

 

4. The process begins again: reading and talking about a related poem followed by 10 more minutes creative writing. This time we explore a different aspect of the theme.

 

5. There is time left at the end for everyone to come back together and for those who want to share their thoughts or read out the poem they have just written.

Cost:

It costs £15 to participate in a 90 minute workshop. 

 

My Experience:

My name is Liz Treacher and I am a qualified English Language coach and Creative Writing tutor with 20 years experience. I have taught international students at the University of Glasgow and the University of the Highlands and Islands. I am also a writer and have written three novels.
